Introducing... LILLIAN MEI MCLAIN

As mentioned earlier, late last year we were "matched" with a precious Chinese girl.  Well, today it's final!!!

As way of introduction, below are a few facts about her and the process of finalizing the paperwork on "Gotcha Day".  Next step is to head to Guangzhou and submit the paperwork for immigration!  We hope to match this trip up with a visit from Rebecca's brother.  She turns the terrible two next month and was born in the same province that we happen to live in.  She was born with a double cleft lip (has been repaired) and a cleft palate (surgery upon arrival in the USA).  Without further ado:

She apparently loves bubbles.  May want to have some ready Gramma Mac...

This is her cheese face, get used to seeing it.

That's right, she also happens to be a VA Tech fan!  What are the odds?!?!

With this face she can always get what she wa-ants.

Here we are touring the gate in Nanjing.  We had about a half day while we were waiting on paperwork.  Reid was the camera man for most of the pics from here on out.

Always time for some archery practice.

Showin' the boys how it's done.

There they are.  She is squinting because it's sunny, not because of the boys to her left or the ridiculous amount of pictures we are making her take.  Really.

Time to pause and reflect.

Bam!  That just happened.  Yes, the water bottle and my jeans were constricting, which prevented me from completing the proper horse stance as I was trained to do in Shaolin.  Did I mention we trained in Shaolin?

Note the natural fist, properly done so she doesn't break her thumb on your face.  Oh yeah, she will fit right in.

Cool shot of the horse ramp on the way up.

Reid has been stripped of his "The Smart One" title.

Who doesn't love a piggy back ride?

Yes!

Nice couple actually, not too handsy when they were taking pictures of the kids.

Mind your stairs!

This is the "Official" picture, at least the one that Reid took.  This went on the final documentation that made her a McLain.

Rebecca helping Lilly apply her "chop".

Family posing with the sweet lady from Lilly's orphanage.

Rowan trying to sneak in.

Paperwork is boring.

American cheese.

Reading in the hotel lobby while we tried to find a good restaurant.

Beauty and the Beast.  If anyone calls her the Beast though, I'll rip their heads off.

Obviously planning something with Riley.

Attempting the traditional "peace sign".

Pretty sure Riley taught her that.

WOW!

Bonding time in the car.  A lot of Curious George was watched.

Hard to see, but halfway up is a "smogbow".  It followed us the whole way home.

Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door by some amazing decorations from our friends!  So blessed to have them in our lives!

In case you are wondering, "Mei" (character on the right) means "Beautiful".  Also, Meimei means "little sister".

Amen

And now for what really happened:

Yep, it was Riley.

And this is the one where I heard her squealing.  And end was put to it and everyone was punished (except Lilly).  Yeah, this was the middle of the process.  Thankfully, we were the last family of the day...

Jumping on the bed?   Riley!!!!  Actually, that could have been anyone.

Hmm, what can I write on?

This Ipad looks interesting...

Yep, I thought so.

A tear or two was shed.
