The kids all assembled and ready to go. A mom organized it apart from school and totally got about 30 kids involved.
The recreation room featured ping pong, a snooker table and (sorry no picture) an ash tray.
Typical bunk bed for the firemen.
Rowan all set to save the world!
What?!?!? Where did "Blue Steel" come from? I didn't ask him to pose, promise. Now I'm going to have to have a talk about the dangers of gasoline fights and how to turn left.
They brought out the bucket truck, it went about 80 meters high.
While they were lifting the mast, I snuck over to take a shot of the courthouse inside. Nice and peaceful.
When I got back, they were sending real people up! With kids!
We all lined up and I was able to get this shot.
Posing with the firemen after they put on their gear.
Then we all headed out to a big field to play with the fire hoses.
All the kids were playing in the spray from the truck.
They switched to foam and sprayed that for a bit. Hmm, is this OK to play in?
Riley and Rowan were cut from the herd and stuck in this truck to pose with some of the guys.
Reid wasn't happy about going, saying he'd already been to a fire station a bunch of times. Yeah, but he was the first in line to do this!
Next, the kids piled in to the truck for a ride around the block (sans belts). Rebecca mentioned how ironic it was that in the U.S. you go to the fire station to check that your children's car seat is properly installed...
Hope there's no fire...
